There are the Creatures games 1-3 (the third one in particular is an ecosystem simulation). They're older (mid to late 90's I think) and probably aren't on Steam, but worth looking into for the revolutionary work done on game AI and ecosystem programming.
Most of the "fixing ecology" is story based rather than gameplay based, but the whole game is about hunting monsters that are harming the ecology of the new world.
I just completed the solve it game. The eco-system task was pretty much easy for me I had 20 mins spare time after submitting the suitable ecosystem. However, I got the Red Rock study, I encountered technical issues in between thus, I consumed too much time on study task and didn't have proper time for cases.
Hey Ecosystem fans! You might've spotted on our Steam page that we're starting monthly round-ups of everything that's going on with Ecosystem, and we'd like to share some of your creations every month!
Hey hey! We developed and thoroughly tested for months a McKinsey PSG Excel solver for the ecosystem game, which in our opinion, is the most challenging game. What are the benefits of using a solver instead of a guide or other simulation tool? You can automatically solve the ecosystem building in less than 12 minutes
Ecosystem is a god-game/simulation hybrid in which players design aspects of their underwater ecosystem - from the terrain composition and where the currents run to the placement of individual species of plant and fish within the world.
I just finished Mckinsey Solve game, I aced the ecosystem but I did not do well on red rock, I answered 50% of the questions correctly at best, Do I have a chance for landing an interview?
Took the PSG today. While I passed all 3 rounds of the defense game, for the ecosystem game, I only got 7/8 species... the 8th species resulted in an animal with 0. The problem was that the elevation I chose was impossible to create a sustainable chain with 8. Ideally, I should have chosen another elevation then, but I was already at the 30 min mark and didnt want to run out of time refilling ...
